I got home and one of the 2 kids across the street was there and he had wrecked my house ( He is autistic and he comes over all the time )Water was involved...(I have had issues with broken pipes, heavy rain) I told him I have to tell your parents and you can't come over here again. Then a bird (pet that I don't have) showed up and I was so glad the bird was ok. At this point I thought "This could be a dream..." and without waking up I realized it was all a dream. Also before waking up I thought "I have to tell Vince (therapist) I'm awake now" Then I woke up.
Dreams often serve as reflections of our subconscious thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Your dream is rich with symbols and themes that can reveal much about your current state of mind and feelings about your relationships, responsibilities, and underlying stresses.
The Broken House: Seeing your home wrecked can signify feelings of instability or disruption in your life. Given that you mentioned having issues with broken pipes and heavy rain, this might suggest that you are currently grappling with some chaos or uncontrollable circumstances. Homes represent our sense of self and wellbeing; thus, a wrecked house could indicate that you're feeling overwhelmed or that your personal space or peace of mind is being threatened.
The Child: The presence of the autistic child can symbolize innocence, vulnerability, and the complexities of communication. Since this child frequently visits you in real life, he might represent an aspect of your life that you feel responsible for or concerned about. Your decision to tell his parents that he cannot come over anymore may indicate a need to set boundaries, suggesting you might be feeling overwhelmed and need to protect your space or sanity.
Water: Water is a powerful symbol in dreams that often relates to emotions, intuition, and cleansing. In your dream, the involvement of water, especially in the context of a broken home, might point to emotional turmoil or feelings of being inundated. It could signify your struggles with feeling overwhelmed or flooded with worries, particularly regarding responsibilities that come with the child and your home.
The Bird: The appearance of a bird, which you do not own but felt joy about in the dream, indicates a hope or a sense of relief regarding something in your life. Birds typically represent freedom, hope, or a message. The fact that you were glad the bird was okay could mean that there’s a part of your life, perhaps related to your personal emotional wellbeing or a creative outlet, that brings you joy and hope, despite other chaotic situations around you.
Realization of the Dream: Your awareness that you were dreaming signifies a level of self-awareness and introspection. This could imply that you are coming to terms with a situation in waking life and recognizing your feelings about it. It might suggest an ongoing process of understanding your boundaries, responsibilities, and emotional well-being.
Vince, the Therapist: Mentioning your therapist in the dream indicates your reliance on guidance and support, and perhaps a desire for validation or reassurance. This reflects a proactive approach to your mental health, implying that you are open to discussing your emotions and experiences with a professional, and seeking clarity in your life.
In summary, your dream appears to be an amalgamation of feelings regarding personal responsibility, emotional boundaries, and maintaining your mental health amidst pressures from your environment. It indicates a struggle between wanting to provide care and support and needing to assert your boundaries to protect your emotional well-being. Consider using these insights to explore your feelings more deeply and address any underlying tensions in your waking life.
